Mediation or Machination

Today, President Trump has reiterated his offer of mediation. We may get excited and overjoyed by this offer. However, actions speak louder than words. Actions speak that it’s more of machination than mediation. US doesn’t seem to be obliged to stand with the right. In overall scheme of things pampering of Modi is preference of the US and same is being done by President Trump. He has no intention of walking the talk. Making mediation offer conditional to request from India (for mediation) is a non starter right at the outset. Trump knows very well that India is never going to budge and request for mediation. He is palying shrewd. One day he goes extra extra miles and endorses Hitler of 21st century by attending his rally and next very day he is with PM of Pakistan to serve a lollipop. I have repeatedly contended that actual objective is containment of China and target is CPEC. Two centuries ago Napoleon warned, “Let China sleep; when she wakes, she will shake the world” (Graham Allison: Destined for War, Can America and China Escape Thicydides’ Trap?). Three of the four global hot spots of the day are surrounding CPEC. Any one succeeding will endanger it. Trump doesn’t feel that tipping point has come. Mere diplomacy is not raising his concerns. He isn’t willing to go beyond waiting for India’s nod for mediation. US isn’t understanding gravity and seriousness of the issue. I feel his balance is more titled towards India than Pakistan. On another hand, mediation even if agreed to can be started to have a fair deal or to seek a deal favourable to India which will also jeopardise CPEC: a common objective of the US and India. While Pakistan is endeavouring to check mate India, China isn’t getting overt to checkmate machinations of the US which are directly aimed at it. Pakistan so far has played its cards well. Tomrrow poor response of world community can be utilised as justification for own actions.

Rowdy Modi

US mainland has become main stage for exposure of fascist Modi. In view of callousness and turmoil he is creating, Howdy Modi should be modified as Rowdy Modi. In a volatile world, Modi is playing his dirty role of adding fuel to fire. Double standards of global powers are emboldening Modi. As it is said that history has tendency to repeat itself. Having suffered scourge of Hitler the world now led by the US is appeasing reincarnated Hitler of today’s times. Champions af human rights and justice are playing role of bystander and fiddle. In the fast changing world, dirty games of the US are getting exposed and losing potency. Seemingly within overall objective of containment of China, the US is fomenting turmoil in the Muslim world. Three hot spots of Iran, Afghanistan and IOK are surrounding Pakistan. These developments are ominous for peace in Pakistan. However, the world and India should better not test resilience of this nation. Pakistan has the potential to see off all kinds of threats. Trump’s attendance of Howdy Modi congregation sends confused and inappropriate signals. He stood by present darling of the US who was detested criminal a couple of years ago. Understandably, it’s due to unfair and unjust nature of the world, however, an unvisionary and foolish Modi will take the US down. Listened to today’s speech of Modi which seemed delusional, living in fools paradise and befooling people. In pursuit of Akhand Bharat, he is going to pave way for disintegration of present India.

Turmoil is Asian

I borrow the title from Parag Khanna book, “The Future is Asian”

The established order is in transition at all three levels ie global, regional as well as internal (of Pakistan). At global level power is shifting from West to East and established super power is being challenged by an emerging power. At regional level, new alignments are coming up and CPEC is being seen as harbinger of change as well as turmoil. At internal level, Pakistan having overcome menace of terrorism is struggling for political and economic stability. At the grand strategy level rise of China is being contested. From status of a strategic competitor, China has risen to strategic rival for the US. The US has roled out one after another strategies and initiatives to contain China. The efforts commenced in 1951 with Island Strategy. Followed by Rebalancing Strategy, Pivot to Asia Strategy and Quad Strategy. Lately the US has announced Indo-Pacific Strategy. Its interesting to follow this contestation. Through Indo-Pacific Strategy, the US in my view is transiting from Trans-Atlantic Orientation to Trans-Pacific orientation. Such a reorientation is seemingly aimed at countering China’s moves in South China Sea (SCS) and be in a position to affect long, circuitous and vulnerable sea lines of communication (SLOCs) of China through SCS and Pacific. Thus importance of CPEC as alternate SLOCs for China. Rise of Asia in general and rise of China in particular is being contested tooth and nail. While future is of Asia as hypothesized by Parag Khanna, albiet not free of cost. Above map shows Four Triangles of Conflict. All these triangles are located in Asia. Three of these triangles have direct consequences for Pakistan and CPEC. Both extremities of CPEC and one of its shoulders are in flux. IOK next to start of CPEC is hot and so is Iran next to end of CPEC ie Gawadar. In the middle a troubled Afghanistan can jeopardise security of CPEC. The US is directly involved in creating turmoil on one extreme of CPEC ie Iran, however, US’ collusion with India in fomenting trouble in IOK is a matter of speculation. However, Indian actions in IOK provide an opportunity to the US. Any of the three triangles succeeding in favour of US/ India will have serious repercussions for CPEC, Pakistan and rise of China. Apparently Pakistan is once again being drawn into centre stage of rivalry of two giants. However, I feel Pakistan has greater prospects if we stand (firmly) by the waxing giant ie China rather than the waning one ie US.

Retirement

In my school days a teacher said to me, “If you look for positives in every thing half of your problems will be solved”. It has become my habit and undoubtedly it works. As I approach important phase of my life, I have all the reasons to rejoice and celebrate. In my view there are three distinct phases of life. First phase is of formal education which is bestowed with youth, energy and dreams. Second phase of professional life is full of challenges and struggles. We reach to pinnacle of professional career and there comes time to retire. Third phase of retired life is final phase prior end of life. These thresholds of life are preordianed and unavoidable. Retirement is ordinarily seen as full of anxieties. Where as in my opinion its a reason to celebrate. Why I think so? Retirement bestows upon us:

-Good riddance of artificiality involving fake smiles, absorbing undesirables

-Reality dawns; one comes to know of genuine friends and well wishers

-Luxury of time to do things we miss due to professional commitments

-Greater time for most valuable blessing of life ie Family

-Liberty to do a lot, prohibited by official life

-Expansion of time and space

-Feeling of self reliance and self assurance

-Become master of will and wishes

Having lived a military life, I am reminded of Shakespearian quote, “I am bound in a nutshell and I am master of infinite space”. My infinite space was also very confined. I am moving from a pond to an ocean. I see it as an Azaadi. I intend exploring ocean of knowledge and space. Will need prayers and wishes of dear ones for this new phase. Allah may bless me what I aspire for.

Risks Confronting New Delhi have Suddenly Multiplied

https://smallwarsjournal.com/jrnl/art/india-enters-turbulent-waters-after-kashmir-action

Validation and endorsement of one’s thoughts is a great encouragement. I have written a couple of blogs on how I see Modi’s actions in IOK. This article coming from N V Subramanian validates my thoughts. Indeed Modi has bitten more than he can chew. He is reinforcing a failure. He is fighting a losing battle. He is damaging his country on the whole. In the morning I read a statement of joker Bipin Rawat saying that Indian Army is all set to capture AJK. Not that I desire war, but I wish India commits another blunder which will serve as last nail in coffin. Both political as well as military leadership of India is serving us as a blessing in disguise. My earlier blogs are referred. Long Live Pakistan.

Axis of Real Evil

I am reminded of Hitler who said, 3rd World War will be caused by the Jews. May be, he had no exposure of Hindus once he prophesied this. Else, he would have said, 3rd World War will be caused by nexus of Jews and Hindus. On Jan 29, 2002, President Bush termed three countries as Axis of Evil ie Iran, Iraq and North Korea. In my view, the real Axis of Evil is now emerging. This real axis is putting the world in danger. Henry Kessinger has recently said ‘If you cannot hear drums of 3rd Wrold War, you must be deaf’. Nexus of Jews and Hindus is beating these drums. I find striking similarities in Jews and Hindus. Both are fascist, both are antihumnaity, both are zionist, both are confined to one single country, both are expansionsits, both are mean to the core, both are involved in ethnic cleansing, both are derogatory and repulsive to other human beings and both lack morals and ethics (a lot more is available on Google regarding similarities between Judaism and Hinduism). Israel and India have issues and disputes with all neighbouring countries. The hottest spots of the world ie ME and Kashmir are being fueled by these two countries. I think President Bush’s definition of Axis of Evil lacked similarities between alleged countries less than that of their perceived intention of harming US, but in this case there are striking and amazing similarities. The world should realise dangers of this Axis of real Evil.

Djinn of Modern World

It’s my observation that humans were bestowed with certain capabilities by nature. Whenever humans were confronted with actions beyond perceived capabilities of humans, they attributed these to Djinn. Metaphorically, Djinn have taken different forms in periods of human history. In medieval times these were invisible giants who could move gigantic rocks and perform tasks beyond capabilities of humans. The US being super power of the world is metaphorically a kind of Djinn. Whatever, we perceive unachievable is attributed to the US. We place the US a notch lower than God. During my visit to Tesla (thanks to Ali my son working here) I was awe struck with complexity and enormity of the system. I feel like calling Elon Musk as a modern day Djinn. In the car manufacturing I saw unprecedented and unbeknownst integration of humans and machines. There were robots all around. We saw less humans and more of robots. One human functioning three to four robots. In glass cabins the robots performed their assigned tasks with splendid accuracy, precision and speed. With experience of seening manufacturing line of Gripen Jet (Swedish fighter plane) visit to Tesla was just amazing. The kind of functions I saw in Tesla can be attributed to a Djinn because such a integration, synchronisation and execution is beyond proportions. Indeed Elon is a modern day Djinn.

From Victim to Partner in Holocaust

During my visit to DC, I visited Holocaust Museum. It was really sad to see how Jews were persecuted by Nazi Germany prior to and during WW2. A civilised society as well as a human is expected to avoid doing something to others which they or he didnt like happening to them or him. Isnt it horrifying and disgusting that on one hand Israel expects civilised world to feel for them but at the same time Israel is involved in ethnic cleansing of Muslims in Palestine and stands as accomplice to fascist Modi (21st Century Hitler) for similar crimes in Indian Occupied Kashmir. Two wrongs do not make a right. I for one didnt feel for Jews while visiting Holocaust Museum. In so called enlightened 21st century World, human rights organisations as well as powers to be are indifferent and callous towards this 21st century Holocaust. I wish people act more, than talking more and US and Isreal stop making mockery and fool out of us. In future there may be another museum to highlight atrocities and heinous crimes committed by India and Isreal similar to Holocaust.
