On completion of 34 years long meritorious service in army, in 2019, I ventured on yet another journey. A journey of social scientist and academician.
While in uniform I was once sharing a stage with a Diplomat and an Academician. In introduction the diplomat said that, “he is an offensive diplomat”. The academician on his turn said that, “he is a liberal realist”. On my turn I said to the audience that as they got two paradoxical statements from both the sides; “I will too make a paradoxical statement, that I am an intellectual soldier”. There was a huge laughter.
In my second journey I self conscienously chose to do a PhD in Strategic Security Management of CPEC. It was a selfless effort to contribute towards a future interest of Pakistan. During PhD I authored a book on Pakistan’s War on Terror. On this journey I earned the title of Doctor in 2021 and on 2 November 2026, I got the honour to be employed as Professor of Practice at NUST. I feel happy and proud that within 7 years of my retirement, I authored a book, did my doctorate and earned the title of Prof. Alhamdo Lillah, now I am
